The Arty stuff
It’s been 12 weeks – that’s all since I started the MA – in that time I’ve been challenged academically and illustratively – however I’ve loved every minute!
This blog post will have a little video of my final project for this module, the project was officially called ‘Untitled’ but I named it ‘The House of Pins’.
Way back when I did the 100 day project sketching buildings around Lostwithiel I came across some lovely personal social history stories from the owners of the properties. One of which was the sketch of Watts Trading. Up in the attic, which many years ago was the servants quarters, the owner of the home was scrubbing the floor boards ready for painting and in one attic bedroom found some ancient handmade dressmaking pins. They were found in a semi-circle around the fireplace and immediately I could see the servants mending and sewing around the fire to keep warm and add more light to the glow of the candles.
So with all this dancing around my head I decided that I would create a little interactive book about the room and finding the pins…. so here it is: To view click on this link
