And Open Studios part 2

Though my plans of exploring all the studios was thwarted by my cough and rather feverish head. (I am led to believe that this cold will be gone in a couple of weeks…. sigh.)

None the less Dave and I did get to visit quite a few of the studios in the main building including Vicki Aimers, Coral Spencer and Lizzie Stevens. The studios are located in an old school and everyone has an individual lockable space, with over head windows so the light is perfect for creating. I spent most of the time with Vicki chatting through the MA and how it differs to the one she is doing, the Authorial Illustration MA. The online Illustration MA is very structured with each module covering a theme, then each week having a project building towards completing the module theme.

We also had a coffee in the cafe which is being taken over in the summer so the bonkers interior will be changing but I’m glad I got to see it.

Then a Detour

I drove out of Redruth towards Truro and then on the A390 through Tresillian. Then turned off towards Tregony and then Vervyn, eventually ending up in St Mawes. Where we parked up and had an ice cream – such a soother for the throat. It was beautiful and quite peaceful – just what was needed.

Then we drove through to Caerhays Beach, bypassed Mevagissey, through St Austell and then home, where I promptly fell asleep.

When I awoke from my slumber I checked the post box and inside was my new Student Card….. ooooooooo exciting!
